    A new bacterial species, Nocardia paucivorans, was identified from a patient with chronic lung disease. This discovery expands our understanding of Nocardia species and their potential role in respiratory infections.

    Background:

    • Nocardia species are known human pathogens, often associated with opportunistic infections.

    • To determine if the isolate represents a previously undescribed species within the Nocardia genus.
