Abstract:
Public health surveillance is critical to the management of the HIV epidemic. Surveillance helps to define changing trends, formulate and strategically implement preventive initiatives, and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions. Collaboration between clinical medicine and public health is essential to reliable surveillance.
