Routine Gallbladder Ultrasonography Before Gastric Restrictive Bariatric Surgery: is it worthwhile?

• Routine preoperative gallbladder sonography in bariatric surgery patients may not offer sufficient clinical benefit to justify its cost.
• Alternative strategies for gallbladder evaluation in this cohort warrant consideration.
