Summary

Moiré fringe perception was investigated under binocular and monocular viewing. The study found no Moiré fringe perception in binocular conditions but positive results in the monocular case using afterimages.

Background:

Moiré fringes are interference patterns formed when two gratings overlap.
Understanding the conditions under which Moiré fringes are perceived is crucial for various optical applications.

Purpose of the Study:

To investigate the perception of Moiré fringes under both binocular and monocular visual conditions.
To determine the influence of afterimages on Moiré fringe perception in monocular vision.

Two distinct tests were employed to assess Moiré fringe perception.
