Abstract:
We describe a method of cytologic specimens for the detection of apoptotic cells by immunostaining after long-term storage (>6 mo) using TdT-mediated dUTP-biotin nick end labelling (TUNEL) technique. The application of the TUNEL method on freeze-drying cellular sample will eliminate the need for fresh material and will provide several advantages.
