Pediatric obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is linked to larger thalamic volumes, which decrease with paroxetine treatment, correlating with symptom improvement. This suggests thalamic changes are associated with treatment response in childhood OCD.

  • Volumetric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was used in 21 drug-naive children with OCD and 21 controls.
  • 10 patients with OCD underwent MRI after 12 weeks of paroxetine monotherapy.
