Induction of secondary cytotoxic T-lymphocytes in vitro does not require cell proliferation

Using a mouse in vitro allograft model, evidence has been obtained that, in contrast to the accepted view, the generation of cytotoxic effector function in T-lymphocytes does not necessarily require cell division.
