    Summary

    Patients with progressive systemic sclerosis (PSS) show reduced circulating thymus-dependent (T) lymphocytes. This reduction correlates with the severity of visceral organ involvement, suggesting a role for immunological factors in PSS.

    Background:

    • Progressive systemic sclerosis (PSS) is an autoimmune disease characterized by fibrosis and vascular abnormalities.
