Background:

  • Behçet's disease (BD) is a multisystem vasculitis with debated thoracic involvement rates.
  • Thoracic complications in BD can be life-threatening, necessitating accurate incidence assessment.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To determine the incidence of thoracic involvement in Behçet's disease.
  • To investigate correlations between thoracic involvement and diagnostic criteria, gender, disease duration, and symptoms.

Main Methods:

  • Retrospective analysis of 42 Behçet's disease patients.
  • Utilized chest roentgenogram, spirometry, thorax CT, and perfusion scintigraphy for thoracic evaluation.

Main Results:

  • Thoracic pathologies were identified in 11.9% of BD patients.
