Summary

Cotinine, a nicotine metabolite, was found to inhibit bile flow in rats. This reduces the elimination of tobacco-specific nitrosamine 4-(methylnitrosamino)-1-(3-pyridyl)-1-butanone (NNK), potentially increasing carcinogen levels.
