Endotoxin tolerance (ET) temporarily alters monocyte responses to lipopolysaccharide (LPS), impairing their ability to stimulate T-cells. This immunoparalysis is linked to reduced surface molecule expression and decreased T-cell proliferation and interferon-gamma release.
