Differences in skin flora between inpatients and chronically ill outpatients

Hospitalization alters skin flora, increasing methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Outpatients show higher micrococci, gram-negative bacteria, and yeast. This study differentiates hospitalization effects from chronic illness effects on skin flora.
