Background:

Observation:

  • Patients presented with lethargy and asymmetric eye redness within 4 days of surgery.

  • Cultures revealed virulent bacteria including Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, and Staphylococcus aureus.
  • All affected eyes had no light perception within 6 months; three required enucleation.
  • Clinical signs included periorbital swelling, redness, leukocoria, and hypopyon.
