Summary

The broom-type cervical sampling device resulted in a higher rate of inadequate ThinPrep Pap Tests lacking an endocervical component compared to spatula/cytobrush devices. Physician choice of collecting instrument significantly impacts specimen adequacy for ThinPrep Pap testing.
