Abstract
Objective:
To explore the role of two membrane proteins, p170 and p26, in clinical drug resistance and their correlation.
Methods:
The expression of p170 and p26 in bone marrow cells from 39 acute leukemia patients were detected by flow cytometry.
Results:
The expression ratios of p170 and p26 were 15.89% +/- 4.41% and 17.32% +/- 10.20%, respectively, in previously untreated group, and 31.02% +/- 14.33% and 33.78% +/- 15.97%, respectively, in refractory/relapse group. The difference between the two groups was significant, while there were no correlation between p170 and p26 (r = -0.1578, P > 0.5).
Conclusion:
Both p170 and p26 were related to clinical multidrug resistance, but the mechanisms were different.
