Summary

Pulmonary artery resection and reconstruction (PAR) using tangential excision is a viable alternative to pneumonectomy for non-small cell lung cancer invading the pulmonary artery. This approach offers acceptable survival rates and low recurrence, making it a sound option when anatomically feasible.
