Abstract:
In order to improve the quality of life and its duration, beside surgical operation with a patient with brain cancer, chemotherapy alone or in combination with radiotherapy may be applied in some cases. There are different protocols of chemotherapeutics (anticarcinomatous drugs) which are applied in treatment of some sorts carcinoma. The success of the therapy depends on the type and stage of the carcinoma, condition of patient well as of anticarcinomatous characteristics of the drug. Performed studies indicated that the life of the patients with glioblastom and astrocitom was prolonged through the application of carmustine or lomustine protocol of chemotherapy after x-rays. New anticarcinomatous drugs and new ways of application are investigated.
