    Background:

    • Enzootic ear mutilation and adjacent tissue damage affected outbred mice (Mcr:(ICR)) in a commercial breeding colony.
    • Cutaneous lesions were observed in affected mice, suggesting a potential link to underlying health issues.

    • To investigate the cause of enzootic ear mutilation in a commercial mouse colony.
    • To determine the association between external ear lesions and internal ear pathology.
