Purpose of the Study:

  • Serum hormone concentrations (T4, T3, rT3, TSH) were measured in 31 acutely ill schizophrenic patients before and after 4 weeks of perazine treatment.
  • Hormone levels were also assessed in 19 non-medicated remitted schizophrenic patients, 20 medicated remitted schizophrenic patients, and 24 residual-type schizophrenic patients.
