Summary

Foldable acrylic intraocular lenses (IOLs) implanted via smaller incisions significantly reduce surgically induced astigmatism, especially in patients with spherical corneas. This offers refractive advantages over larger incisions with polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) lenses.
