The ACS Multi-Link stent shows promise for acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients, offering excellent flexibility and radial strength. This study found successful stent delivery and good angiographic outcomes in AMI cases.

Background:

  • The ACS Multi-Link stent is a flexible, high-strength stainless steel stent.
  • While effective for stable and unstable angina, data on its use in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is limited.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the safety and efficacy of the ACS Multi-Link stent during primary percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) in patients with AMI.

Main Methods:

  • Retrospective analysis of 38 ACS Multi-Link stent placements in 34 AMI patients undergoing primary PTCA.
  • Assessment of stent delivery success, angiographic success, and in-hospital outcomes.

Main Results:

  • 100% successful stent delivery and 94% angiographic success were achieved.

  • Significant reduction in stenosis (95% to 9%) and increase in minimal lumen diameter (0.2 to 2.9 mm) post-stenting.
