[Culture and home care in the future]

The author deals with at home care from an anthropological viewpoint, insisting that this is an area which is experiencing important growth at present time, and will in the future; it combines health services as well as cultural and social factors. From this point of view, which consists in getting close to the person or group trying to learn what he/it can teach us, irregardless of whether or not this coincides with our own concepts, the author analyzes multiple situations which at home care can offer. The author insists in the need to understand that human beings are their own cultural universes, if we wish to get close to them with success. The author concludes that the three pillars on which at home care will be based in the future are: the function of emotional support, complementary tele-assistance, and mutual help amongst groups.
