Background:

Hypodermiasis, a parasitic infestation, is theoretically nearly eradicated.
A resurgence is noted in Lower Normandy, a region with significant bovine husbandry.

Observation:

A seven-year-old girl presented with eyelid edema, ptosis, and subcutaneous nodules.
Initial symptoms showed no eosinophilia or positive serology for hypodermiasis or toxocariasis.
Symptoms evolved over weeks, with increasing pain and swelling, later accompanied by eosinophilia and positive hypodermiasis serology.

Findings:

The patient received short-term oral steroid treatment for visual field obstruction.
Recovery was achieved without larvae appearing on the skin surface, contrary to literature.
