Accurate Potential Curve for the Double Minimum 2(1)Sigma(+)(u) State of Na(2)

Abstract:
The double minimum 2(1)Sigma(+)(u) state of Na(2) was investigated by polarization labeling spectroscopy technique. A total of 1156 transitions to rovibrational levels of the inner well and above the barrier were identified. Using the IPA method, an accurate potential curve of the state was constructed based on a weighted fit of our experimental results and spectroscopic data available in the literature [D. L. Cooper, R.
