Background:

Observation:

  • Pars plana vitrectomy and microbiological analysis revealed coagulase-negative staphylococci infection.
  • Treatment with intraocular and systemic antibiotics led to rapid resolution of inflammation.

Implications:

  • Infectious endophthalmitis should be suspected in cases of exaggerated intraocular inflammation post-surgery.
  • Thorough microbiological evaluation is essential before diagnosing sterile uveitis.
