    Background:

    • Acute leukemia is a hematologic malignancy affecting neutrophil function.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate neutrophil granulocyte function in acute leukemia patients using the nitroblue tetrazolium (NBT) dye test.
    • To assess changes in NBT test results during different stages of leukemia treatment.
    • To investigate the correlation between NBT test results, fever, and phagocytic ability.

    Main Methods:

    • Studied sixteen adult patients with acute leukemia.
    • Performed non-stimulated and stimulated nitroblue tetrazolium (NBT) dye tests sequentially: at diagnosis, during, and after treatment.
    • Assessed phagocytic ability in patients.
