Understanding allograft rejection mechanisms is vital for improving patient outcomes.

Observation:

Accelerated allograft rejection was identified in 18% of renal transplants within five days.
This rejection type presented with higher fever, increased intensity, and resistance to reversal compared to acute rejection.

Findings:

Accelerated rejection was not associated with lymphocytotoxic or heterophil antibodies.
A significant 58% of patients with accelerated rejection maintained satisfactory renal function one year post-transplant.
