[Pharmacological effects of zhenzhu jingmu oral liquid]

Zhenzhu Jingmu Oral Liquid (ZJOL) is an aqueous solution extracted from the serum of spermary and ovary of Pinctada martensii. Taurine, an effective chemical component, has been isolated from ZJOL. It has been shown that ZJOL given orally can produce an excitative constrictive effect on the uterus of guinea pigs in vivo, prolong the dissolving time of euglobulin in rabbits, and shorten the bleeding time as well as the blood clotting time in mice. In higher dosages, ZJOL can cause a sedation in mice.
