Summary

Despite extensive research, treatment options for metastatic melanoma, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy, offer poor prognosis. Current treatments have not improved overall survival in large trials.

Background:

Metastatic melanoma presents a poor prognosis despite significant clinical research efforts.
Various treatment regimens have been evaluated, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and combination approaches.
