Summary

Lower uterine artery vascular impedance does not predict multiple gestation likelihood. Sonographic markers of the uterine environment did not correlate with the number of embryos successfully implanted after transfer.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the association between uterine artery vascular impedance and the occurrence of multiple gestation.
  • To determine if sonographic parameters of the uterine environment predict successful implantation of multiple embryos.

Main Methods:

  • Color Doppler ultrasound was used to measure pulsatility index, resistance index, endometrial thickness, and echo patterns.
  • Measurements were taken during oocyte retrieval cycles at specific time points: human chorionic gonadotropin injection, oocyte retrieval, and mid-luteal phase.
