Spinal epidural cavernous angioma: case report.

Summary

We report a rare case of spinal epidural cavernous angioma causing sudden paraplegia. Magnetic resonance imaging enabled accurate preoperative diagnosis of this uncommon spinal lesion.

Background:

Spinal epidural cavernous angiomas are rare vascular malformations.
They can present with acute neurological deficits.

Observation:

A case of paraplegia with acute onset is presented.
The lesion was located at the C7 and T1 spinal epidural levels.

Findings:

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) facilitated preoperative diagnosis.
The case highlights the diagnostic utility of MRI for spinal epidural cavernous angiomas.

Implications:

Early diagnosis and surgical consideration are crucial for managing spinal epidural cavernous angiomas.
This case contributes to the literature on rare spinal vascular lesions.
