Abstract:
This paper presents a method to measure the diaphragm tension of a condenser microphone where the fundamental frequency of the diaphragm is found from the input conductance of the microphone as a function of frequency. In this contact-free, purely electrical approach only the diaphragm and the backplate of the microphone are used as the main system for exciting and detecting the diaphragm vibration.
