Summary

Sinus pericranii, a rare vascular anomaly, can be effectively managed using a surgical technique that obliterates abnormal venous channels. This method offers a simple and useful approach for treating sinus pericranii without recurrence.

Background:

Sinus pericranii is a rare vascular anomaly involving abnormal extracranial-intracranial venous connections, often including the superior sagittal sinus.
Various surgical techniques exist for managing this condition.

Observation:

A spontaneous parietal sinus pericranii case in a 33-year-old woman presenting with a parietal mass, headache, and dizziness.
Preoperative imaging included skull X-ray, CT, bone scan, and venogram.

Findings:

Complete surgical excision of the lesion was performed.
Multiple small cranial fenestrations were obliterated using air-powered diamond drilling.
Pathologic examination revealed vascular endothelium, suggesting a congenital origin.
