Abstract:
A survey of lay members on PCGs and local health groups in England and Wales found that more than three quarters were over 45. Very few were from an ethnic minority. Almost two-thirds were in paid employment. Almost all were recognised as full members of the board but many felt they were token members. Three-quarters thought PCGs were improving primary healthcare.
