[What is your profession? Evaluative approach and normal word choice for occupational descriptions in German]

Terms of occupation are often used in psychological research to refer to stimulus persons. The first comprehensive study for the German language is presented, in which 95 German commonly used terms of occupation are evaluated concerning a number of variables discussed in the literature, specifically perceptions of sympathy, prestige, typicality, positivity, negativity and ambivalence. As a consequence, it will be possible to balance terms of occupation in future research.
