  • Structure elucidation of isolated compounds using spectroscopic methods.
  • Main Results:

    • Two novel flavanones were isolated and characterized: 5,7,3'-trihydroxy-6,4',5'-trimethoxyflavanone and 5,3'-dihydroxy-6,7,4',5'-tetramethoxyflavanone.
    • Eight known compounds were also identified: 1,3-O-di-trans-p-coumaroylglycerol, 1-O-trans-p-coumaroylglycerol, a mixture of 1-(omega-feruloyldocosanoyl)glycerol and 1-(omega-feruloyltetracosanoyl)glycerol, trans-ferulic acid 22-hydroxydocosanoic acid ester, arborinone, arborinol, and isoarborinol.
    • The study expands the known phytochemical profile of Greigia sphacelata.

    Conclusions:

    • The phytochemical investigation of Greigia sphacelata led to the discovery of new flavanones.
    • The identified compounds contribute to the chemical diversity known in plants from arid environments.
    • This research enhances the understanding of Greigia sphacelata's chemical constituents.
