Purpose of the Study:

  • To determine the incidence of uveal effusion following cataract surgery.
  • To identify preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative variables associated with uveal effusion.

  • Prospective observational case series of 207 eyes from 205 subjects.
  • Clinical and B-scan echographic examinations were performed post-surgery.
  • Variables studied included intraocular pressure, wound integrity, and medication use.

  • Uveal effusion occurred in 5.8% of cases, mostly subclinical.
