Abnormal electroencephalogram (EEG) findings in aseptic meningitis do not necessarily indicate encephalitis. Further research is needed to clarify the cause of EEG abnormalities in these patients.

- The exact cause of EEG abnormalities in aseptic meningitis remains unclear, potentially indicating silent inflammation or infectious encephalopathy.
