Background:

Shift work is common in industrial settings and can disrupt circadian rhythms.
Disordered condition due to shift work (DCSW) and associated sleep disturbances may impair cognitive functions.
Understanding the prevalence and impact of DCSW is vital for worker well-being and safety.

Purpose of the Study:

To determine the prevalence of disordered condition due to shift work (DCSW) among industrial workers.
To investigate the influence of sleep disorders on work and driving performance in shift workers.
To identify specific sleep disorders associated with performance decrements.

Main Methods:

A preliminary questionnaire survey was conducted.
The study included 332 industrial shift workers.

Data collected focused on DCSW prevalence and sleep disorder symptoms.

A prevalence of 33.1% for DCSW was identified among the surveyed workers.
Workers with DCSW had shorter durations of shift work experience compared to those without.
