[Grouping of neurons according to their RNA content during different functional states of the cerebral cortex]

In the cat somatosensory cortex intact and after epileptiform activity induced by electric stimulation, neurons formed groups on the basis of similarity of their RNA contents. The highest degree of grouping was observed during the epileptiform cortical activity. Functional significance of these groupings is discussed.
