Epidural Abscess and Discitis Following Spinal Anaesthesia- A Case Report.

Background:

  • Meibomitis is a common eyelid inflammation.
  • Infectious crystalline keratopathy (ICK) is a rare form of microbial keratitis.

Observation:

  • Two patients with meibomitis developed corneal surface lesions with crystalline structures.
  • Corneal scrapings revealed bacteria and keratinized cells, with no significant inflammation.
  • Cultures identified Staphylococcus epidermidis, Corynebacterium, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Findings:

  • Epithelial ICK can manifest as plaque-like lesions.
  • Bacterial pathogens were identified as the cause of the crystalline lesions.
  • Treatment with topical antibiotics and artificial tears showed poor response and recurrence.
