Psychological improvement following arteriovenous malformation excision. Case report
Journal of Neurosurgery
|April 1, 1975
Abstract:
A patient with a right frontal lobe arteriovenous malformation demonstrated progressive intellectual deterioration on neuropsychological tests. Following complete excision of the arteriovenous malformation, the patient's visuomotor function and visual recall were greatly improved, probably the result of elimination of arteriovenous shunts that were taking blood away from functional tissue.
