    Background:

    • Digoxin is a cardiac glycoside used to treat heart failure and arrhythmias.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the correlation between serum and mixed saliva digoxin concentrations.
    • To determine the feasibility of using saliva as a noninvasive matrix for digoxin monitoring.

    • Serum and mixed saliva samples were collected from 34 hospitalized patients.
    • Digoxin concentrations were measured in both saliva and serum samples.
    • The saliva-to-serum concentration ratio of digoxin was calculated.
