Summary

Mycobacterium vaccae immunotherapy offers no benefit for tuberculosis patients. This treatment did not improve mortality or sputum conversion and caused significant local adverse reactions, including ulceration and scarring.

Background:

  • To evaluate the efficacy of Mycobacterium vaccae as an adjuvant therapy in combination with standard chemotherapy for tuberculosis treatment.
