Summary

Johne's disease (paratuberculosis) is a chronic intestinal infection in ruminants caused by Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis. This often fatal disease leads to significant economic losses and is challenging to manage due to its subclinical nature and ineffective treatments.
