Background:

  • A 78-year-old male presented with incidental abnormal chest film findings.
  • Two distinct lung nodules were identified: a 20x25 mm lesion in the right lower lobe (S10) and a 5x10 mm lesion in the right upper lobe (S2).

Observation:

  • Bronchoscopic biopsy of the S10 lesion revealed squamous cell carcinoma.
  • The S2 lesion's biopsy was initially negative for malignant cells.

Findings:

  • Histological examination confirmed well-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma in S10 and well-differentiated adenocarcinoma in S2.
  • Surgical intervention included right lower lobectomy for the S10 tumor and partial resection for the S2 nodule.
