    Background:

    • Hysterical amblyopia is a functional visual disorder.
    • It presents with reduced visual acuity and visual field defects.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the integrity of visual pathways in hysterical amblyopia.
    • To compare objective visual function tests between patients with hysterical amblyopia and healthy controls.

    Main Methods:

    • Evaluated six hysterical amblyopes and six age/sex-matched controls.
    • Assessed visual acuity, color vision, visual fields, dark adaptometry, and visual evoked responses (VER).

    Main Results:

    • Hysterical amblyopes exhibited reduced acuity and constricted visual fields.
    • No significant differences in dark adaptation thresholds were found between groups.
