Background:

  • A retrospective review evaluated eight patients (six adults, two children) with severe/profound hearing loss and significant visual impairment who underwent cochlear implantation.
  • Patients received multichannel cochlear implants and underwent tailored rehabilitation, with speech perception assessed pre- and post-implantation over 6 months to 9 years.
