Injecting cartilage differentiation-1 (CDMP-2) into Achilles tendons significantly enhanced healing and strength in rats. This discovery offers new possibilities for improving tendon repair through targeted therapeutic interventions.

  • To investigate the efficacy of CDMP-2 injections for improving Achilles tendon repair.

  • A 3-mm Achilles tendon segment was removed in 50 rats.
  • CDMP-2 was injected locally at varying doses (0, 2, 10, 50 microg) 6 hours post-surgery.
  • Tensile strength of repaired tendons was measured after 8 days.
