Summary

Psychiatric nurses reported average burnout levels, with only 2.0% experiencing high burnout. Interventions addressing both organizational and individual factors are recommended to minimize burnout risk.

  • Exploratory variables explained significant variance in emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal accomplishment.

  • A comprehensive approach involving organizational and individual interventions is necessary to reduce burnout risk.
  • Findings inform strategies for improving psychiatric nurse well-being and retention.
